Best Alcohol Rehabilitation Centre in India and Drug Rehabilitation Centre in India

As organizations focusing on keeping addicts one step ahead of their addiction, De-addiction centres across India present a number of advantages to those struggling with drug abuse.

As organizations committed to seeing addicts reach a state of total abstinence, De-addiction centres offer a massive span of treatment options, and range in proficiency and size. Centres scattered across India continue to focus their actions and pursuits around a similar goal – healing and rehabilitation. Not only do deaddiction centres change lives and grant hope to addicts, but they also often have the perfect setting to catalyze recovery and provide a venue where addicts can work through addictions together.

De-Addiction Centres: The ideal setting

An addict lives in nearly seventy-five percent of the millions of homes across our country. One of the many problems contiguous to the addiction issue in India is the negative influence surrounding addicts. Peer pressure, bad examples set by parents, and mistakes made by respected political and celebrity figures all add to the addiction predicament (especially for those just starting to abuse drugs). Divyyaa Gaja, the founder of the first all-women Indian Deaddiction centre, recognizes the growing intensity of drug addiction. And she understands the advantages of visiting a deaddiction centre. “Addiction is a medical issue that requires numerous ongoing behavioral, medical and recovery support services”, she says. And she’s correct, drug addiction is a condition that has to be treated in an appropriate context – de-addiction centres create the ideal setting for rehabilitation.

For example, De-Addiction centres recognize the apprehension women have towards attending a centre; they understand that youth require different forms of treatment than grown men, and they’re willing to adapt to fit the needs of individual addicts. Centres have age and gender-specific treatment and their facilities and staff encourage addicts towards abstinence from illicit drugs. Many times an addict will stay at a centre for as long as nine months in order to achieve a sustainable abstinence. During this time, the addict will be surrounded by MBBS doctors, qualified psychiatrists, trained counselors, and an experience staff who will support and encourage them along the road to recovery.

You’ll meet and relate to other addicts

De-addiction centres can also be an avenue where drug abusers meet and relate to others struggling with the same condition or addiction. Most addicts know, or take drugs with, other illicit abusers. Something about knowing you’re not the only one admitting illegal drugs into your body makes it much easier to abuse drugs. Often, illicit drug use can become a game of sorts amongst addicts.

The opposite is also true. When addicts who are determined to develop a new-found lifestyle, and resolute towards attaining complete abstinence meet one another at de-addiction centres, accountability is often established. Placing this sort of responsibility on a recovering addict can be very effective in their rehabilitation process. Accountability often results in lasting abstinence and is an essential aspect of long-term recovery.

Will a Centre really be able to help?

Some addicts have tried on multiple occasions to recover. Some try on their own, at a de-addiction centre, an outpatient facility, or an AA group. Sometimes an addict doesn’t recover because they have not yet committed to recovering. As Hope Trust recently said on their FB page, “If you really want to stay sober, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.” An addict must commit to do everything he or she can to become free of addiction. Another reason an addict’s past efforts may not have worked is that the previous centre was not equipped to deal with the addicts specific problem. A small counselling centre may not be able to handle an addict with a dual diagnosis or mental health problem on top of an addiction. An addict or his or her family members should do their best to find a centre that is equipped to deal with the specific problem. Even if the centre is far away or costs more, one must consider the importance of the task. Freedom from addiction is possible, and an addict can find help to recover!
